The Congress high command today tried to placate senior Haryana leaders by giving tickets to them, their family members and favourites. The party named candidates for 89 of the 90 seats, keeping its decision on the Gurgaon seat in abeyance.
State Congress president Bhajan Lal and his son, Chander Mohan, were renominated from Mandi Adampur and Kalka respectively. His other son, Kuldeep Bishnoi, is a Lok Sabha member from Bhiwani. PCC working president Randeep Singh Surjewala (Narwana) and his father Shamsher Singh Surjewala (Kaithal), too, have been given tickets.
While former chief minister Bansi Lal (Bhiwani) has opted out of the race, the high command gave tickets to three of his family members.
