.

The Congress, which is poised to lead the form the new government, is committed to having good neighbourly relations with Pakistan and discuss all issues with it under the framework of the Simla Agreement.

‘‘The Congress has always taken the initiative for having good neighbourly relations with Pakistan,’’ said K. Natwar Singh, chairman of the AICC foreign affairs department.

He said the 1972 Simla Agreement provides the framework under which ‘‘discussions can be held on all Indo-Pak issues’’.

Asked whether the Congress-led government will pursue the roadmap laid out by the NDA government, he said: ‘‘Let the government be formed. We will have to go into details after that.’’

Spokesman Anand Sharma said his party had consistently supported dialogue between the two countries and ‘‘so, there is no question of any change in our stand’’. — (PTI)
