BANGKOK, AUG 1: China is seeking Thailand’s help in arresting Li Hongzhi, leader of the Falun Gong sect, should he travel to the kingdom to visit 1,000 local followers, a news report said on Sunday.
The Chinese embassy plans to submit the official arrest request for Li to Thailand’s Interior Minister later this week, said The Nation newspaper, quoting Chinese ambassador to Bangkok Fu Xuezhang. Thailand and China signed an extradition treaty in February.
