NEW DELHI, June 1: The Central Bureau of Investigation has initiated steps to extradite three Sikh militants from the United States, United Kingdom and Germany for their alleged involvement in the killing of Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh and several others in a bomb blast on August 31, 1995.
Interpol had been earlier alerted to track down these persons, identified as Manjinder Singh Grewal, Resham Singh and Harjit Singh Gill, the investigating agency sources said. They were stated to be activists of the so-called `Babbar Khalsa International’ who along with others masterminded the entire operation.
