KODAIKANAL, February 10: The Palani Hills Conservation Council has called for immediate steps to save the 136-year-old Kodaikanal lake, which, it said, was fast turning into a cess pool. The council has suggested the setting up of a lake management board, piping of sewage water out of the lake watershed and banning the use of detergents round the lake, among other remedial measures.
