TVS Spectra launched
TVS Suzuki entered the two-wheeler geared scooter market with the launch of TVS Spectra – a four-stroke, 150 cc, four gear scooter – in Chandigarh. The scooter, which is the only one with a centrally mounted engine, is being manufactured at the new plant – set up by TVS at Mysore with an investment of Rs 180 crore. The plant has the capacity of manufacturing 1.5 units per year. "Backed by an aggressive marketing and advertising strategy, we plan to grab six to eight per cent of the scooter market in the first year", said a company official. The scooter has been priced at Rs 36,009 in Chandigarh, Rs 35,646 in Punjab and Rs 35,877 in Haryana.
