Breaking his silence on the issue, Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala on Saturday said the rape case against his MLA-son Gaganjit Singh was “false’’.
“I will not say anything beyond this (that this is a false case) as it may hamper investigations,’’ he said.

Asked on what grounds he was saying that the case was false, the TN Governor refused to elaborate.
Meanwhile, Gaganjit Singh on Saturday decided to move a fresh bail application after a local court said it was too early to decide on the one already moved by him as forensic reports were still awaited.
