CHANDIGARH, Dec 4: A scooterist was killed after he was "knocked" down by a truck coming from the opposite direction. The deceased has been identified as Bal Lova, a Jawan of the Assam Regiment.
According to police sources, truck driver Ram Jit Yadav, who made good his escape from the accident site last night, leaving the truck on the spot, has been arrested. The accident occurred around 8.30 p.m. yesterday near the Sukhna bridge. A few patrolling policemen were witness to the mishap, sources added. Yadav was rushed to the hospital, where he died. The police have registered a case under section 279/304-A of IPC.
