Are Russel Crowe-Ridley Scott headed for a fallout?

After working together in four films, reports are suggesting that Russel and Scott are headed for a fallout.

After working together in four films including the much acclaimed ‘Gladiator’ reports are now suggesting that actor Russel Crowe and director Ridley Scott are headed for a fallout.

Crowe is reportedly trying to get Scott replaced with some other director for his latest film ‘Nottingham’.

Scott directed Crowe in “Gladiator” (2000), a role which fetched him the Oscar for Best Actor.

The New Zealander also earned critical acclaim in Scott’s other two films ‘A Good Year’ (2006) and ‘American Gangster’ (2007).

However, a spokesmen representing Crowe and Scott has denied reports of any discord between the duo. But sources say Crowe blames Scott for the failure of their fourth film “Body of Lies,” which released last summer, the ‘New York Post’ reported.

Crowe is reportedly so upset with Scott that he no longer wants to work with the British director.

“Ridley is the only one who is willing to stand up to Russell and tell him he’s too fat and that he can’t show up four hours late to the set,” said a source.

“He (Russell) wants someone he can control,” the source added.

Their latest film ‘Nottingham,’ whose shooting begins in March next year, is a revisionist version of the legend of Robin Hood. Crowe stars as the sheriff of Nottingham, a noble and brave lawman whose corrupt king is raising taxes even as his subjects starve. He and Robin Hood vie for the love of Maid Marian in the film.
