Aniil Baijal has been appointed as the next Home Secretary to replace N. Gopalaswami who will move to the Election Commission as a member. Baijal is likely to take charge on February 6 when Gopalaswami moves to the EC.
No appointment has been announced as his replacement at Delhi Development Authority where he is currently the Vice-Chairman. Baijal was earlier Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
Other appointments which were expected have also been confirmed. They , however, got delayed until today because they were waiting for approval from PM A.B. Vajpayee.
