Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), which has two MPs, on Thursday decided to oppose the nuclear deal and vote against the confidence motion if tabled in Parliament.

“Both the party MPs Arun Sharma and Sarbananda Sonowal will vote against such a motion against the deal and the Congress-led government”, AGP president Brindabon Goswami and opposition leader Chandra Mohan Patowary told reporters here.

“We will oppose the nuclear deal tooth and nail as the UPA government had failed to take into confidence the opposition parties before taking such a big decision,” Patowary said.

“After the Left have backed out, the government had no right to continue and should resign”, he said.

On price rise, the AGP leader said the governments both at Centre and the state had “totally failed” for which the common man was the worst sufferer.
