CHANDIGARH, Aug 19: The Haryana government will spend Rs 95 crore during the Ninth Five-Year (1997-2002) Plan for construction of hospitals and medical institutions in the state.
In a statement issued here today, Haryana Health Minister, Om Parkash Mahajan said construction of government hospitals at Ambala city, Panchkula, Faridabad, Dabwali and Rohtak would soon be completed. During the current financial year, six primary health centres would be upgraded to community health centres.
The minister said the government had approved construction of community health centres at Kurali, Bahadurgarh, Punhana, Mangali, Aryanagar, Gannaur, Ellenabad, Ladwa and Kalayat and primary health centres at Barara, Achina, Dhoj, Nagina, Umra, Chaudhriwas, Lilas, Chulibagrian, Daryawala, Keharwala, Darbi, Jottanwali, Popra, Jakholi, Rasina, Pai, Ujha, Banyani, Matanhail, Dharuhera, Karchwa and Mugalwali.Mahajan said the health department was planning to provide basic health care facilities to people in rural areas by constructing more health institutions in the state.
The government had earmarket Rs 8.25 crore during the current financial year for construction of hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres and sub-centres in the state, he added.
