Vijay Varma’s latest photoshoot — in which he can be seen elegantly carrying off a classic metal sari with a tuxedo shirt — has left us speechless. In the pictures shared by fashion designer Rimzim Dadu, the Darlings actor breaks free from “constructs and limitations”, as he wears a tuxedo and a sari with equal ease and elegance.

“With fluidity anchoring our worldview, we abide by no definitions. Presenting ‘Art in Motion’, a story that transcends boundaries of seasons, gender, or fleeting fashion trends. It illustrates what we do at Rimzim Dadu and why we found our muse in the man of the moment, the very versatile Vijay Varma (@itsvijayvarma) – an actor who can’t be confined to any definition,” she captioned the stunning pictures. In other pictures from the photoshoot, Vijay can be seen wearing an embroidered blush pink tuxedo with black painted nails.

Celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania, who styled the actor, also took to the social media platform and decoded his look: “A tuxedo shirt and a sari, texture mélanges, sheer and opaque… syncing the styling with her non-conformist approach to design.”

Rimzim Dadu also shared a photo of Varma in a burgundy metallic jacket that was paired with lose-fitted pants. She described the look as a juxtaposition of “structure and movement”.

In other pictures, the versatile actor was also seen in a black metallic cord patch jacket that was layered on a see-through black top styled with black pants and shoes. All the pieces donned by Varma were “rooted in Indian textile heritage and artisanal savoir-faire”.

“We have developed and used new materials and design techniques including our signature metal textiles, metallic cord embroidery with fluid interlacing, textiles inspired by intricate lace-making, cane webbing and topography-inspired artworks,” explained Dadu.
