The 2023 Met Gala red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City saw celebrities putting their fashion foot forward to celebrate the legacy of fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019. From outfits dripping in pearls to actors channelling their inner Chanel brides, the annual affair was surely an eventful one. Much to the delight of fans, a bunch of Indian personalities, including Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, Natasha Poonawalla and Isha Ambani, made heads turn on the red carpet.

And now…it’s time for the after-party! Who better than our desi girl to turn to for style inspiration? After leaving us spellbound with her monochromatic Valentino look for the main event, Priyanka Chopra kept it incredibly chic for the after-party.

According to the pictures going viral on social media, Priyanka Chopra opted for a bright red shirt gown from Valentino’s Fall 2023 collection. A black tie broke the monotony and added a chic factor to her otherwise simple look.

With her hair styled in a messy updo, she teamed the look with gold hoop earrings, black heels, and glam makeup. Nick Jonas, on the other hand, looked suave in a black tuxedo.

For the Met Gala red carpet, Priyanka Chopra arrived wearing a Valentino black cady strapless dress with black bow detail and leather gloves along with a black faille cape and white bow. Exquisite diamond jewels from Bulgari and black stilettos rounded off her look.

Nick Jonas complemented her perfectly in black trousers, crisp white shirt, faux leather jacket and black silk faille tie. A wristwatch and sleek black shoes completed his dapper look.

Their outfits paid a fitting tribute to Lagerfeld’s love for monochrome, which can be traced in his designs. “Black and white always looks modern, whatever that word means,” he is famously quoted as saying. He believed that black and white were the ultimate colours in fashion and that they could be used to create a timeless and elegant look.
