Drench yourself in the colours and cuisines of North East as the 5th edition of North East Festival (NEF) begins from November 3 to November 5 at IGNCA, Janpath in the Capital. To light up the cultural mosaic of the city, the festival promises to bring a montage of different dance forms and exotic handloom and handicraft products for the visiters. For the last four years, the festival has evolved into one of the most talked about events in New Delhi and has attracted a huge audience who come to immerse themselves in the frenzy and fervour of North East.
One of the major attraction of the festival is the NEF Rock Battle, which will see top rock bands of Delhi’s biggest colleges, fighting it out in a competition. NEF Football Cup will be organized from October 26 to November 2 and will feature Delhi’s college football teams competing with North East football clubs with an attempt to promote new talent and to build a bridge among the budding youngsters.
The evening musical stage will see some of the finest musical talents of India rock the city including Papon, heavy metal bands Pulse Pandits, Traffic Jam international DJ Teri Miko and many others.
The festival is also set to serve a delicious northeastern line of cuisine and 30 stalls will be there to give a mouthwatering experience to food lovers.
The festival will bring 150 weavers and artisans together to spread their textile magic and top designs from North East will be presented by beautiful northeastern models and celebrity showstoppers.
The North East community in Delhi comprising students, activists, professionals, who handle various issues of North East help organise the festival in the city.
The entry for the festival is free and the timings will be from 11am to 10pm.
