Uttar Pradesh Election Results 2024 Highlights: SP secures 37 seats in UP; Akhilesh Yadav wins from Kannauj, Bhim Army’s Chandrashekhar from Nagina

Congress' Tanuj Punia won against Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajrani Rawat from Barabanki Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Election Commission website, by a margin of 2,15,704 votes.

The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) secured two seats - Baghpat and Bijnor - in Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha polls 2024.

Dr Rajkumar Sangwan from Baghpat won against Samajwadi Party's Amarpal by a margin of 1,59,459 votes, whereas in Bijnor, Chandan Chauhan won against SP's Deepak by a margin of 37,508 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won from the Amroha, Baharaich, Bansgaon and Bhadohi Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Election Commission website.

Kanwar Singh Tanwar secured victory from Amroha against Congress' Kunwar Danish Ali by 28,670 votes. Meanwhile, in Baharaich, Anand Kumar won against SP's Ramesh Chandra by 64,227 votes.

Kamlesh Paswan secured victory from Bansgaon by a margin of 3,150 votes against Congress' Sadal Prasad.

BJP's Vinod Kumar Bind won from Bhadohi against All India Trinamool Congress Laliteshpati Tripathi by a margin of about 44,072 votes.

Samajwadi Party secured victory from Ambedkar Nagar, Badaun, Ballia, Banda and Basti Lok Sabha constituencies, according to the Election Commission.

Lalji Verma won from Ambedkar Nagar against BJP's Ritesh Pandey; Aditya Yadav won from Badaun against BJP's Durvijay Singh Shakya; Sanatan Pandey won from Ballia against BJP's Neeraj Shekhar and Krishna Devi Shivshankar Patel managed to secure Banda from BJP's R.K. Singh Patel.

In Basti, meanwhile, Ram Prasad Chaudhary won against BJP's Harish Chandra alias Harish Dwivedi by a margin of 1,00,994 votes.

Congress' Ujjwal Raman Singh won from Allahabad Lok Sabha constituency against Bharatiya Janata Party's Neeraj Tripathi, according to the Election Commission website, by a margin of 58,795 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Prof S P Singh Baghel secured victory from Agra Lok Sabha constituency against Samajwadi Party's (SP) Suresh Chand Kardam by a margin of 2,71,294 votes.

BJP's Devendra Singh alias Bhole Singh won from Akbarpur against SP's Rajaram Pal by a margin of 44,345 votes.

In Aligarh, BJP's Satish Kumar Gautam won against SP's Bijendra Singh by 15,647 votes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victory in three Lok Sabha constituencies - Farrukhabad, Fatehpur Sikri and Ghaziabad - in Uttar Pradesh.

Mukesh Rajput won from Farrukhabad against SP's Dr Naval Kishor Shakya by a margin of 2,678 votes. BJP's Rajkumar Chahar won from Fatehpur Sikri against Congress' Ramnath Singh Sikarwar by a margin of 43,405 votes.

BJP's Atul Garg won from Ghaziabad against Congress' Dolly Sharma by 3,36,965 votes. 

Samajwadi Party (SP) Tuesday secured victory in Etah, Etawah, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Ghosi and Hamirpur Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections 2024.

In Etah, Devesh Shakya won against Rajveer Singh by a margin of 28,052 votes. In Etawah, on the other hand, Jitendra Kumar Dohare won against Dr Ram Shankar Katheria by a margin of 58,419 votes.

In Fatehpur, Naresh Chandra Uttam Patel won against BJP's Niranjan Jyoti by about 33,199 votes. Afzal Ansari from Ghazipur won against Pars Nath Rai by a margin of 1,24,681 votes.

Rajiv Rai from Ghosi won by a margin of 1,61,943 votes against Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party Dr Arvind Rajbhar. Meanwhile, Ajendra Singh Lodhi secured victory from Hamirpur constituency against BJP's Kunwar Pushpendra Singh Chandel by a margin of 2,629 votes.

As the trends of the 2024 Lok Sabha election results started firming up by Tuesday evening, it became clear that the ruling BJP is falling short of the majority mark of 272 by more than 30 seats on its own steam, losing more than 60 seats as compared to its individual tally of 303 in the 2019 polls.

However, the BJP-led NDA alliance together seemed to be getting over 290 seats with significant contributions from two allies – the Chandrababu-led TDP in Andhra Pradesh and the Nitish Kumar’s JD(U) in Bihar.

That the road to Delhi runs through Uttar Pradesh is not lost on anyone. With 80 seats in a House of 543, UP has decided national outcomes and withstood the test of time, election after election.

It propelled Narendra Modi's rise to power in 2014, sending 71 BJP MPs to Lok Sabha, and helped him consolidate his grip in 2019 by electing 62 party candidates and two of ally Apna Dal (S).

While the Samajwadi Party (SP) managed to secure the Chandauli Lok Sabha seat against the BJP, the latter won from Deoria and Domariyaganj against Congress and SP, respectively.

Birendra Singh from Chandauli defeated BJP's Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey by a margin of over 21,000 votes. 

BJP's Shashank Mani won from Deoria against Congress' Akhilesh Pratap Singh by a margin of 34,842 votes. Whereas, BJP's Jagdambika Pal won from Domariyaganj defeated Bhishma Shankar alias Kushal Tiwari by a margin of 42,728 votes.

Samajwadi Party secured victory in four Lok Sabha constituencies - Sambhal, Salempur, Sant Kabir Nagar and Shrawasti - beating the Bharatiya Janata Party, as per the Election Commission website.

While in Salempur, Ramashankar Rajbhar won against BJP's Ravindar Kushawaha by a margin of 3,573 votes, in Sambhal, Zia-ur-Rehman won against Parmeshwar Lal Saini by a margin of 1,21,494 votes.

In Sant Kabir Nagar, while Laxmikant Pappu Nishad won against Pravin Kumar Nishad by a margin of 92,170 votes and in Shrawasti, Ram Shiromani Verma won against Saket Misra by a margin of 76,673 votes.

Congress candidate Imran Masood won from Saharanpur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Election Commission website.

Masood defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Raghav Lakhanpal by a margin of 64,542 votes.

Samajwadi Party secured victory in both Rampur and Robertsganj Lok Sabha constituencies, according to the Election Commission website.

In Rampur, while Mohibbullah defeated BJP's Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi by a margin of 87,434 votes, in Robertsganj, Chhotelal defeated Apna Dal (Soneylal)'s Rinki Singh by over 1,29,000 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Jitin Prasada won from Pilibhit Lok Sabha constituency against Samajwadi Party's Bhagwat Saran Gangwar by a heavy margin of 1,64,935 votes.

The BJP also secured victory in Shahjahanpur Lok Sabha constituency against SP's Jyotsna Gond by a margin of over 55,379 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Praveen Patel won from Phulpur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Patel defeated Samajwadi Party's Amar Nath Singh Maurya by a margin of 4,332 votes.

Meanwhile, in Pratapgarh, Samajwadi Party's Shiv Pal Singh Patel won against BJP's Sangam Lal Gupta by a margin of about 66,206 votes.

As per the Election Commission website, Bhim Army's Chandrashekhar Aazad won from Nagina Lok Sabha constituency against Bharatiya Janata Party's Om Kumar by a margin of 1,51,473 votes.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Harendra Singh Malik on Tuesday won from Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha constituency against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Sanjeev Kumar Balyan.

Malik defeated Balyan by a margin of 24,672 votes.

Samajwadi Party's Ruchi Vira won against Bharatiya Janata Party's Kunwar Sarvesh Kumar from Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday, as per the website of the Election Commission.

Vira led the seat by 1,05,762 votes.

Samajwadi Party candidate R K Chaudhary on Tuesday won from Mohanlalganj Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh against Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Kaushal Kishore by a margin of over 70,000 votes. 

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Akhilesh Yadav won from Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, as per the website of the Election Commission.

Yadav defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Subrat Pathak by a margin of 1,70,922 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ashok Kumar Rawat won against Samajwadi Party's Sangita Rajvanshi from Misrikh Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

Rawat defeated Rajvanshi by a margin of 33,406 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rajnath Singh won from Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency against Samajwadi Party's Ravidas Mehrotra by a margin of 1,35,159 votes. 

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ramesh Awasthi secured victory against Congress' Alok Misra from Kanpur Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday by a margin of 20,968 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Karan Bhushan Singh on Tuesday won from the Kaiserganj Lok Sabha constituency, according to the Election Commission website.

Singh defeated Bhagat Ram from the Samajwadi Party by a margin of 1,48,843 votes.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Iqra Choudhary won from Kairana Lok Sabha constituency in Lok Sabha elections 2024, according to the Election Commission website.

Choudhary defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Pradeep Kumar by a margin of 69,116 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Anurag Sharma on Tuesday secured victory from the Jhansi Lok Sabha constituency.

Sharma defeated Congress' Pradeep Jain 'Aditya' by a margin of 1,02,614 votes. 

Samajwadi Party candidate Narayan Das Ahirwar Tuesday won from Jalaun Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, the Election Commission of India declared.

Ahirwar defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma by a margin of 53,898 votes. 

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Anoop Pradhan Balmiki Tuesday won from Hathras Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, according to the website of the Election Commission.

Balmiki defeated Samajwadi Party's Jasveer Balmiki by a margin of 2,47,318 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jai Prakash secured victory in Hardoi constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

Prakash defeated Samajwadi Party's Usha Verma by a margin of 27,856 votes, as per the website of the Election Commission.

Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Ravindra Shukla Alias Ravi Kishan won from Gorakhpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh in Lok Sabha eelctions 2024. 

Kishan defeated Samajwadi Party's Kajal Nishad by a margin of 1,03,526 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kirtivardhan Singh Tuesday won from Gonda Lok Sabha constituency, according to the latest updates on the Election Commission of India website.

Singh defeated Samajwadi Party's Shreya Verma by a margin of 46,224 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Dr. Mahesh Sharma secured victory from Gautam Buddha Nagar Lok Sabha constituency in the General Elections 2024. 

According to the website of the Election Commission, Sharma defeated Samajwadi Party's Dr. Mahendra Singh Nagar by 5,59,472 votes.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Akshaya Yadav secured victory from Firozabad Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday, as per the ECI website.

Yadav defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Vishwadeep Singh by a margin of 89,312 votes.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Awadhesh Prasad, after securing victory from Faiazabad constituency (Ayodhya) in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, assured the people that he will work towards keeping Lord Ram's dignity intact.

"I will get those people rehabilitated, whose houses or shops were demolished by the BJP government. I will work to keep Lord Ram's dignity intact," he said.

Samajwadi Party candidate Awadhesh Prasad held his certificate after winning from Faizabad constituency (Ayodhya) in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Prasad defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Lallu Singh.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Dharmendra Yadav was declared winner from Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Election Commission website.

Yadav defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' by a margin of 1,61,035 votes.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Neeraj Maurya was declared winner from Aonla Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, according to the Election Commission website.

He defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Dharmendra Kashyap by a margin of 15,969 votes.

Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) candidate from Amethi Lok Sabha seat, addressing a press conference on Tuesday after, losing to Congress's K L Sharma, said that she will continue to be in service of people of Amethi.

"...I express my gratitude to all the BJP party workers and supporters, those who have worked in the service of the constituency and the party with utmost dedication and fidelity...Today, I am grateful to PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath that their governments have completed the pending works of 30 years in just 5 years. I congratulate those who win. I will continue to be in the service of the people of Amethi...," she said.

Rahul Gandhi has retained the Wayanad constituency in Kerala, with a margin of 3.64 lakh votes. His margin in 2019 was 4.31 lakh votes.

Addressing a press conference, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “This was a fight to save the Constitution of the country and has emerged victorious in it. The country has said that they do not want Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to run the country,” he said. 

His statements come as the Congress party scripted a comeback story, almost doubling its 2019 tally, as it leads in at least 90 seats and claims nine wins. 

Addressing a press conference on results day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who won with a thumping majority of 4 lakh votes from Rae Bareli, said he appreciated the “political wisdom” of Uttar Pradesh. The INDIA bloc has surged ahead in the state, which is considered a crucial factor in deciding who will form the next Union government.

Congress candidate Rakesh Rathor was declared the winner from the Sitapur constituency in Uttar Pradesh by the Election Commission. He won by a margin of 89,641 votes. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been declared the winner for the third consecutive time from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat by the Election Commission. 

He won by a margin of 1,52,513 votes. In the 2019 elections, he had won by a margin of approximately 5 lakh votes. 

Maneka Gandhi failed to retain the Sultanpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh today, and lost to Samajwadi Party candidate Rambhual Nishad. 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is leading by a margin of 64,930 votes in the Lucknow constituency. 

Incumbent Sultanpur MP Maneka Gandhi is trailing behind Samajwadi Party candidate Rambhual Nishad by a margin of 32,607 seats.

The three newcomers from the Samajwadi Party are making waves in their debut election, hailing from established political family. All three seats, previously held by the BJP, now see SP candidates in the lead.

Iqra Hasan, vying for the Kairana Lok Sabha seat, is leading with 68,754 votes, leaving BJP's Pradeep Kumar as the runner-up. Iqra secures a total of 457,327 votes.

In Kaushambi, SP's Pushpendra Saroja emerges as the frontrunner with 91,212 votes, surpassing BJP's Vinod Kumar Sonkar. Pushpendra garners a total of 424,559 votes.

Meanwhile, in Machhlishahr, SP's Priya Saroj maintains a lead of 39,916 votes over her closest opponent, BJP's Bholanath (BP Saroj). Priya secures a total of 325,435 votes.

Samajwadi Party's Mohibullah Nadvi wins Rampur seat in Uttar Pradesh. BJP had won the seat in a by-election after Azam Khan was convicted.

Nadvi is a cleric at a Delhi mosque and he had rushed to Rampur to file nomination a day before the last date.

The Bharatiya Janata Party registered another big defeat in Uttar Pradesh after its national vice president and sitting MP Rekha Verma lost to Samajwadi Party's Anand Bhaduariya in the Dhaurahra seat. 

Union Minister Kaushal Kishore was defeated by Samjwadi Party candidate R K Chaudhary in Mohanlalganj today. 

BJP's incumbent Faizabad MP Lallu Singh, who is currently trailing behind Samajwadi Party's Awadhesh Prasad by a margin of nearly 25,000 votes, arrived at his office in Ayodhya.

While its other allies SBSP and NISHAD Party are set to lose their seats and Apna Dal (S) is struggling to retain its seat, Rashtriya Lok Dal is heading to success in Baghpat where its candidate Rajkumar Sangwan is leading by 1.30 lakh votes. RLD had got 2 seats Baghpat and Bijnor as part of the seat-sharing plan.

In Bijnor, its candidate Chandan Chauhan is leading by 18,000 votes.

Veteran leader late Shafiqur Rehman Barq's grandson and Samajwadi Party candidate in Sambhal Zia ur Rehman Barq is leading by 1.02 lakh votes.

On voting day, many videos went viral over social media where voters had made allegations of police atrocities to stop them from voting.

BJP's Bhola Singh wins Bulandshahr seat with a margin of 2,75,134 votes. 

"The credit for my victory goes to the Gandhi family, this is the land of the Gandhi family, this is the land of Rajiv Gandhi, I fulfilled the responsibility assigned to me by the Gandhi family. And in accomplishing this, Amethi residents, SP, Congress and all the alliance partners have contributed. Amethi has told that humility will prevail here, arrogance will not prevail here. I express my gratitude to the people here and the Gandhi family for this victory," KL Sharma said after his victory from Amethi constituency.

Sharma defeated incumbent MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani. 

Senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav's son and Budaun Loksabha candidate Aditya Yadav is trailing by 8168 votes. BJP's Durvijay Singh Shakya is leading
