Amid speculations over a reshuffle in the Karnataka Cabinet, CM Siddaramaiah met Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Saturday.
Siddaramaiah, accompanied by Energy Minister KJ George had a 30-minute discussion with Gandhi at former AICC chief Sonia Gandhi’s residence, sources said.
Apart from statements by various ministers and Congress leaders, Siddaramaiah had himself on Tuesday indicated that a reshuffle in the state Cabinet was on the cards after two berths fell vacant due to the resignation of ministers KN Rajanna and B Nagendra.
A source privy with the developments of the meeting said that Gandhi has given his approval for a reshuffle in the state Cabinet. “It is now up to the CM to decide how he goes about it,” the source said.
Meanwhile, amid buzz over a leadership change, KPCC president DK Shivakumar also reached New Delhi on Saturday and is expected to meet Gandhi and other senior leaders.
