Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani today said the dream of “good” Indo-Pak relations cannot become a reality until the Kashmir issue is resolved according to wishes of the people.
“The real reason for tension between New Delhi and Islamabad is the Kashmir issue,” the chairman of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat Conference said in a statement here.
“Until, this issue is resolved according to wishes and aspirations of the people here, the dream of good Indo-Pak relations cannot become a reality,” he said.
On the two-day conference of Indian and Pakistani parliamentarians in Islamabad recently,Geelani said the “so-called Pakistani intellectuals” were attempting to sideline the Kashmir issue and think of normalising the situation.
