Madhu Koda ‘s aide grilled by ED

A close aide of former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda has been brought to the national capital from a Ranchi jail and is being grilled by the Enforcement Directorate to unravel the alleged multi-crore illegal investments and hawala transactions done by him.

Official sources said Binod Sinha,who was earlier arrested by the CBI,is being questioned at the ED office here,after the Directorate took his remand from a Ranchi court.

Sinha holds the key to many of the questions about huge investments in countries like Dubai,Libya,Mauritius and Caymen Islands among others,the sources said.

They said Sinha is also been questioned on alleged investments done by them in various firms,including a bullion firm based in Mumbai.

Sinha’s brother Vikash is already in judicial custody and was arrested by the ED in the case.

The ED,Income Tax Department and the CBI are separately investigating allegations of such investments and hawala transactions against Koda and others.

On October nine last year,the ED had filed an FIR against Koda and some others. On October 31,Income Tax officials conducted raids in the premises of Koda and his aides.

The ED has already started the process of attaching properties belonging to the accused in the case having a registered value of about Rs 300 crore.
