J-K to set up 22 automatic weather stations

The govt has also taken various initiatives to boost silk industry and basmati rice production.

Aiming at providing weather-based data to farming community,the Jammu and Kashmir government today said it will set up automatic weather stations in all the 22 districts of the state.

“The agriculture department in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organisation will install automatic weather stations in all the 22 districts of the state,which will enable farmers to combat the vagaries of weather,” Agriculture minister Ghulam Hassan Mir said.

He said the government has also taken various initiatives to boost silk industry and basmati rice production.
