After Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma recently gave Narendra Modi as the answer to a question on who his favourite actor is, the Opposition has seized the opportunity to take aim at both the Prime Minister and the BJP.

CM Sharma made the remark during an interaction with journalists at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards ceremony in Jaipur on Sunday night. When asked about his favourite actor, Sharma responded with a smile, “Narendra Modi ji.”

Reacting to this, Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra said on X, “We have been saying this for a long time… that Modi ji is not a leader but an actor. Though late, even the Chief Ministers of the BJP government have started saying that Modi ji is not a public leader but an actor. He is an expert in camera skills, teleprompter, costumes and flowery speeches.”

Tagging CM Sharma, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, “You are right Bhajan Lal ji, PM Modi is a good actor. But don’t you think that sometimes he has started over-acting too much?”

The Aam Aadmi Party, too, through its official X handle, shared a video of the interaction, saying: “Chief Ministers and leaders of the BJP themselves believe that there has never been and will never be a bigger actor in this country than Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

BJP spokesperson Laxmikant Bhardwaj, however, claimed that the question asked to the CM was about his “favourite hero.”

“Congressmen, kneeling at the feet of one family, continuing their tradition of lies and deceit, are trying unsuccessfully to write fake scripts by editing videos,” Bhardwaj said.
