Addressing a press conference after Day 5 of the Monsoon Session, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said: "You must have noticed this week that prior to the commencement of the House's proceedings, the Congress and other Opposition parties had issued a written demand to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor in the House. As soon as the Monsoon Session began, we, on behalf of the Government, stated it clearly that we are ready to discuss the matter."
"We decided the same in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), but the Opposition has been creating a ruckus, and against the rules, they brought posters and banners, disrupting the proceedings."
"We were only able to pass one Bill in the first week. After the first Bill was passed, we urged to dicuss the next Bills listed, but the Congress and other parties created a ruckus and disrupted the proceedings."
"I want to state that we are going to discuss the matters you have brought up; please do not disrupt the Parliament. People elect the MPs to discuss the issues in the country, in accordance with the rules."
"Drafting each answer in the House requires a lot of hands and resources, and if we cannot discuss and listen to them, it is a loss for the public."
