Kick-starting nationwide celebrations on the 74th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president J P Nadda inaugurated a blood donation camp and an exhibition on the PM’s life in New Delhi Tuesday, and highlighted the key achievements of the NDA government in the first 100 days of its third term.
The celebrations, called Sewa Pakhwada by the BJP, will continue till Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. “Today is the birthday of PM Modi, and like every year, the BJP is celebrating it as Sewa diwas and Sewa Pakhwada… PM Modi has made huge efforts to bring improvement in the lives of people from all sections of the society,” said Nadda and extended his best wishes to PM Modi on behalf of all BJP workers.
“Today also marks the completion of 100 days of the Modi-led government… Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the government has approved for providing more than 3 crore homes. The 17th PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi has also been released by the government and more than `2 lakh crore deposited in the bank account of farmers,” Nadda said.
“In the first 100 days of our government, the work of 3 crore houses under PMAY has started. The 17th Kisan Samman Nidhi instalment has been released. The Unified Pension Scheme has been approved by the Central Government, construction of 12 new smart cities has been approved… PM Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana will cover every citizen irrespective of age group and an annual cover of `5 lakh will be provided,” he said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also listed the government’s achievements in its first 100 days, while Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the party was celebrating the occasion by going to people and informing them about the Modi government’s work.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took part in a cleanliness drive in Kota. In Modi’s home state Gujarat, the state BJP has decided to organise cleanliness and blood donation programmes through the week. “Under your (Modi’s) leadership, the underprivileged have received priority. Today, our nation is progressing towards becoming the growth engine of the world. Our democracy is strengthening day by day. You are truly the charioteer of India’s ‘Amrit Kaal’,” UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on the occasion.
Meanwhile, greeting PM Modi, President Droupadi Murmu said in a post on X, “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji on his birthday. On the strength of your personality and work, you have provided extraordinary leadership and increased the prosperity and prestige of the country.”
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said the prime minister has firmly set the country on a trajectory towards a developed India by 2047. In a post on X, Dhankhar said Modi, in governance for over two decades, and as the PM for over a decade, has “aroused the soul of Bharat, stimulated its cultural values, nurtured its civilisational ethos.” “With new insights and resolute will, may you continue to lead Bharat for many years to come!” he said.
LoP in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee and Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan also greeted the PM.
