Rail Connectivity in Northeast: Mizoram’s first Rajdhani Express train has received an overwhelming response from passengers. The rail connectivity to the state was inaugurated on September 13 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the completion of the Bairabi-Sairang railway line.

Mizoram’s first Rajdhani Express operates between Sairang and Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. The commercial service of train number 20507, Sairang–Anand Vihar Terminal Rajdhani Express, started on September 19; while train number 20508, Anand Vihar Terminal–Sairang Rajdhani Express, commenced operations on September 21.

The Sairang–Anand Vihar Terminal–Sairang Rajdhani Express is operating at over 155 per cent occupancy. Train number 20507 (Sairang – Anand Vihar Terminal, Delhi) Rajdhani Express registered an impressive 162.5 per cent occupancy, while its return service, Train No. 20508 (Anand Vihar Terminal, Delhi – Sairang) Rajdhani Express, recorded 158.3 per cent.
During its journey between Sairang and Anand Vihar Terminal, train number 20507/20508 Rajdhani Express will stop at 18 stations. These are: Bairabi, Hailakandi, Badarpur Junction, New Haflong, Hojai, Guwahati, Rangiya Junction, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Sahibganj Junction, Bhagalpur, Jamalpur, Patna, DD Upadhyaya, and Kanpur Central railway stations.
The train number 20507 Sairang-Anand Vihar Terminal Rajdhani Express will run only on Friday. On the other hand, train number 20508 Anand Vihar Terminal-Sairang Rajdhani Express will operate on Sunday only.
The train number 20507 Sairang-Anand Vihar Terminal Rajdhani Express will depart from Sairang at 16:30 hrs to reach Anand Vihar Terminal at 10:50 hrs on the third day. Similarly, train number 20508 Anand Vihar Terminal-Sairang Rajdhani Express will leave at 19:50 hrs to arrive Sairang at 15:15 hrs on the third day.
