Pratibha Patil gets keys to new bungalow

For former President Pratibha Patil,the long wait for a retirement home is finally over.

For former President Pratibha Patil,the long wait for a retirement home is finally over. On May 20,she got the keys to her new bungalow on Pashan Road here.

The Central Public Works Department,in-charge of renovating the Raigad Bungalow,handed it over to Patil two days ago.

Sources said former President can now move in any day. Patil was staying at 2,Tughlaq Lane,New Delhi,since July 25,2012,on a temporary basis while the Bungalow was being renovated.

The house will be in her possession as long as she or her spouse is alive. Later,it will be returned to the Maharashtra government, said a CPWD official.

The Urban Development Ministry has apparently spent over Rs 2 crore on the work that included addition of several new rooms,refurbishing old ones,landscaping,etc.
