Advocating better coordination among security personnel engaged in anti-Maoist operations,Director General of CRPF K Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said the ultra menace could be ended through united efforts.
“We can do things together. Cooperation can always be better,” Kumar told reporters after arriving here on a two-day maiden visit to Orissa.
The CRPF DG took stock of the situation at a closed door meeting with Director General of Police,M M Praharaj and senior policemen.
Kumar also met Governor M C Bhandare at Raj Bhavan.
Besides visiting some Maoist-hit districts where the CRPF were deployed,Kumar is scheduled tomorrow to meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Chief Secretary B K Patnaik.
Eight CRPF battalions comprising about 4,320 personnel were deployed in the Maoist-hit areas,state Home Secretary U N Behera told reporters.
The BSF also has five battalions in worst-affected Malkangiri and Koraput districts,he added.
