In a bizarre incident,a doctor has allegedly chopped-off the hands of his wife and brother-in-law in Patti village of the district over dowry issue,police said.
The incident took place on Saturday when Gursahib Singh,who got married to Kulbir Kaur around ten months ago,took her out and allegedly chopped-off her hands,they said.
The accused then returned to his place and chopped-off the hands of his brother-in-law Manpreet,who had come to meet his sister.
Both victims are admitted to different hospitals.
Gursahib is missing since Saturday.
According to the police,the couple’s neighbour told them that the doctor was demanding more dowry from his in-laws and used to harass his wife for the same.
