‘Govt ready to implement journalists wageboard after SC nod’

AP govt has not been able to take advantage of scheme and urged it to take necessary steps: Kharge

The Centre is ready to implement the recommendations of the wage boards for journalists and non-journalists once the matter is cleared by the Supreme Court,Union Labour Minister Mallikarjuna Kharge on Sunday said.

“That is pending before the Supreme Court. As soon as Supreme Court gives its verdict,we will definitely implement. We are definitely in favour of you (media),” he said.

Kharge was speaking on the sidelines of a function where he laid the foundation for an ESIC Dispensary-cum-Diagnostic Centre at Jeedimetla.

Referring to the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) health scheme for Below Poverty Line (BPL) families,he said the Andhra Pradesh government has not been able to take advantage of the scheme and urged it to take necessary steps.
