Govt puts forward panel of young turks to face media

The Group of Minister on Media,responsible for regular briefings to the fourth estate,has included a battery of young ministers to articulate UPA policies and viewpoints to the press.

The GOM,headed by Home Minister P Chidambaram,was created to lift the image of a scam-ridden regime,and will now have young MPs dealing regularly with the media.

It was largely the practice earlier to engage with the media in times of crisis or emergencies.

The young turks include Milind Deora,Jitin Prasada,RPN Singh,Jyotiraditya Ccindia,Ajay Maken,D Purandeswari,Rajiv Shukla,Sachin Pilot,Pallam Raju and Krishna Tirath.
