At present, 11 Amrit Bharat Express trains are running across the railway network, out of which 10 either originate from or pass through Bihar. These modern trains offer a travel experience comparable to the Vande Bharat Express, but are specifically designed to provide affordable and high-quality service for passengers from lower and lower-middle income category.

The new Amrit Bharat Express for Bihar will connect the state with Rajasthan. It will run between Darbhanga and Madar Junction (Ajmer). Initially, the Ministry of Railways has planned to operate the train on a weekly basis.
The Amrit Bharat trains come equipped with a range of upgraded features, including: semi-automatic couplers, modular toilets with new type of construction materials, strong pillar and partition, emergency talk back features, EP assisted brake system, newly designed seats and berths, pantry car in new design, continuous lighting system like Vande Bharat, fire detection system, gangways, external emergency lights, charging sockets along with mobile phone holders, etc.
