Madhya Pradesh Education Minister Paras Jain Wednesday said whoever was living in India, irrespective of their religion, should consider it a Hindu Rashtra because a majority of people follow Hinduism here.

Asked for his reaction to BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj’s comment that “every Hindu woman must produce at least four children to protect the religion’’, the minister told a television channel that individuals can take a call on that.

The minister said it was proper to have only two children. “Whoever produces more children, including those belonging to minorities, should be barred from getting government benefits,’’ he said.

Despite attempts, he could not be reached for comments.
