Tight security has been put in place before counting of votes in the Moga bypoll on Thursday. Both central security forces’ and Punjab Police personnel have been deployed near the counting centre. Moga SSP Ashish Chaudhary and Returning Officer Joram Beda reviewed security arrangements on Wednesday at the government school where EVMs are kept. “Counting will begin at 8 am and will be completed in 14 rounds. We have ensured all security arrangements and only those given accreditation by us will be allowed to enter the counting centre,” said Beda. While many local leaders and workers are likely to be present outside the booth to support SAD candidate Joginderpal Jain,Congress candidate Vijay Sathi said he would be present with his election agent. “Unlike Akali Dal,all our leaders and workers from outside have gone back. So just me and my election agent will be there. After the counting is over,I will call up my leaders and ask them what to do. Even though they have blatantly misused the official machinery,I am winning and we have arranged for a victory procession,” Sathi said.
