Television channels give confusing picture of Bihar poll results

While CNN IBN says MGB is leading 102, NDA in 91, Times Now saying 65 for MGB and 82 for BJP-led NDA.

Exit polls after the five phases of Bihar election have been usually divided with some giving a clean sweep for Nitish Kumar-led Mahagadbandan, some others gave BJP-NDA majority while others predicted a neck-and-neck fight in Bihar battle. But interestingly even on the counting day as the results came out, television channels gave a confusing picture.

While CNN IBN says MGB is leading 102, NDA in 91, Times Now saying 65 for MGB and 82 for BJP-led NDA.

The EC website however suggests a neck-and-neck fight with advantage to MGB. It says MGB is leading in 17 and the NDA is in 12 seats.

NDTV gives an entirely different tally. According to NDTV, BJP plus its allies leading in 110, JD (U) is ahead in 81.

Quoting EC data from Patna, ANI says 119 for Nitish and his allies while BJP is leading in 76 and others in 9.

The suspense continues.
