Shiv Sena on Wednesday said it would not allow MMRDA’s low-cost housing project at Virar in neighbouring Thane district to come up,saying the project was aimed at encouraging outsiders to come to Mumbai.

We will not allow a single brick to be laid, Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray said in a statement.

MMRDA is buidling 43,000 houses under rental housing scheme and has relaxed the 15-year state domicile condition which is like an invitation to hordes of people from other states here, Uddhav said.

The Marathi manoos has been relegated in Mumbai and Congress which divided Marathi people has now decided to finish them in Vasai,Virar and Thane, he said.
