Seemandhra bandh affects work at power station in Kadapa

Most staff did not report because of the strike call given APNGOs.

Five units of RTPP Rayala Seema Thermal Power Project were ‘tripped off’ on Sunday because of technical reasons,and there was shortage of staff to attend to them because of the general strike called by pro-united Andhra Pradesh protesters,authorities said.

Most staff did not report because of the strike call given by the government employees association APNGOs,said superintendent engineer K V Ramana Reddy,who expressed hope that repairs would be carried out on Sunday.

Meanwhile,the bandh passed off peacefully in the district,barring a couple of incidents of violence.

A BSNL office was pelted with stones at Kodur.

Offices,shops,schools,etc remained closed for the second day on Saturday.

Several rallies were held across the district.
