Ruckus in LS over Amethi food park issue

The Congress on Tuesday raised questions in the Lok Sabha about the fairness of the proceedings after Speaker Sumitra Mahajan allowed Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal to make a statement on the cancellation of a food park in party vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s constituency Amethi, amid ruckus in the House.

After Badal was allowed to make a detailed statement on the issue, originally raised by Rahul last week in the House, the Congress questioned the decision to allow the government to speak on the same issue repeatedly while rejecting its requests for adjournment motions. The Lok Sabha had to be adjourned twice for brief periods due to protests by Congress members.
