An application was moved in the Supreme Court on Thursday, asking for the Centre to disclose the status of the probe by the Income Tax Department against Delhi-based meat exporter Moin Akhtar Qureshi. The NGO, Common Cause, which is pursuing the coal block allocation scam, alleged that Qureshi’s name figured in the visitors’ logbook at the residence of CBI director Ranjit Sinha. The plea said that the appraisal report prepared by the Director General of Income Tax (Investigations) on the probe against Qureshi in the alleged hawala dealings should be placed before the court.
