Petroleum paper leak: Chargesheet filed against 13 accused, OSA not invoked

Sources said the Official Secrets Act (OSA) has not been invoked against the accused and added that further investigations were underway.

Sources also said the 13 accused have been chargesheeted for theft, cheating and criminal conspiracy under sections of the IPC — including offences under Sections 457 (trespass), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating) and 471 (forgery using a genuine forged document). The police have named 42 prosecution witnesses in the case.

Among the 13 accused, five are corporate executives — Shailesh Saxena from RIL, Vinay Kumar from Essar, K K  Naik from Cairns India, Subhash Chandra from Jubilant Energy and Rishi Anand from Reliance ADAG.

The accused are in judicial custody and their bail applications are pending before the court.
