A hardcore militant of the NDFB (Songbijit) has been apprehended in a joint operation by Army, Assam Police and CRPF’s COBRA in Chirang Reserve Forest.
The joint team had carried out the operation on Friday that resulted in the apprehension despite the cadre making an attempt to flee, a defence spokesman said on Saturday.
Identified as Amin Rabha, the nabbed ultra is an active member of NDFB(S) and was involved in a large number of extortion and recruitment activities in Kokrajhar District, he said.
A 7.65 mm pistol, one rifle, two 7.65 mm live rounds and one grenade were recovered from him.
