A man murdered his wife and seven-year-old daughter in Haryanas Bhiwani on Thursday. The accused first suffocated his wife and then his daughter with a pillow and fled Durga Colony in Bhiwani, where the family used to reside.
Harish, his wife Jyoti (25) and daughter Apsara used to live in a rented accommodation in the colony. Locals came to know about the incident, when one of Harishs neighbours went to call on him this morning and found Jyoti and Apsara dead. Following this, the police were informed.
A pillow was recovered from near the bodies, which may have been used to suffocate the deceased. The postmortem examination of the deceased also indicated that they were asphyxiated to death.
With Harish nowhere to be found, and Jyotis family blaming him for the incident, the police booked him for murder. The formal complaint accusing Harish of the murders was lodged by Jyotis aunt Dharam Devi.
Harish, who works in a garment store, allegedly used to misbehave with Jyoti because of his suspicious nature. Jyotis uncles Pawan Batra and Radhey Sham told the police that previously as well,Harish had assaulted Jyoti and Apsara.
While the bodies were handed over to Jyotis parents after postmortem examinations, raids were conducted in and around Bhiwani to arrest Harish.
The crime spot was also inspected by the team of forensic experts. Rhey also indicated that the pillow was used to kill Jyoti and Apsara. We are trying to trace Harish and he will soon be arrested, said Inspector Suresh Kumar, the investigating officer.
