Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Monday said he would request Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to rein in Union Minister for Women and Child Development Renuka Chowdhury,who has been unleashing “baseless charges” against the state government.
“Without verifying the facts,the Union Minister has been making false allegations against my government,” he told reporters.
Condemning the kidnap case of Shruthi,daughter of Kerala MLA C H Kunhambu,Yeddyurappa poured out his anger at Renuka who last week hit out at the Karnataka government charging that there was no law and order in the BJP ruled state.
Yeddyurappa said “I will request the Prime Minister to advise her”.
Of the five arrested in connection with the Shruti abduction case,investigations had revealed that two of them belonged to CPM and the others were Congress activists.
“The state is seriously thinking to book them under the Goonda Act”,he said.
