Heart brought from Bangalore for Hyderabad woman recipient

The traffic police had halted traffic on many routes to create a green corridor from the airport to the hospital.

A donor heart was brought from Bangalore to Yashoda Hospital in Hyderabad at 1:30 pm on Saturday, for a 35-year-old woman recipient. The heart was brought in a chartered flight and taken to the hospital in an ambulance — guided by a pilot vehicle.

The traffic police had halted traffic on many routes to create a green corridor from the airport to the hospital. The woman had been identified as a recipient by the Zonal Coordination Committee of Karnataka.

It all started at 11 am in Bengaluru, when the family of P Shivaraye Baje, 30, an accident victim who was declared brain dead, decided to donate his organs. Yashoda Hospital officials said that the surgery was under progress. ens
