Bombay High Court Wednesday rejected a petition filed by Nasir Abdul Kadar Keval alias Nasir Dhakla,a convict in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case, challenging his transfer from Aurangabad Central Prison to Nashik Central Prison.

Dhakla, who was sentenced to life, had challenged an order by DIG (Prisons) in July last year that directed his transfer to Nashik.

An affidavit filed by prison authorities said Dhakla’s transfer was ordered after he and three other convicts had got into a fight.

Dhakla contended that his transfer was ordered without verifying the jail authorities’ claims that he was involved in a fight. He said there was no record of misdemeanour on his part in jail. Justices P V Hardas and Mridula Bhatkar rejected his plea.
