Grad labourer writes to PM; seeks monetary help to wed sisters

A 24-year-old labourer with a post graduate degree here has sought financial assistance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support the marriage of his two younger sisters.

In a petition to Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Manjit has expressed his inability to support the wedding of his 18-year-old and 20-years-old sisters.

Manjit, a Post-Graduate with social science, works as a farm labourer and owns one bigha land in village Jatpura under Ahar Police Station here.

He has an ailing father and his mother works in shifts as a domestic help in the village, the petition to the PMO states.

In response to Manjit’s petition, PMO has directed the District Magistrate to enquire and report the financial and social status of the applicant.

According to District Magistrate Office Sub Divisional Magistrate, Anoopshahr tehsil, he has been directed to enquire into the matter and report.
