Gangster Ramesh Lohar nabbed at Rohtak village

The Haryana Police Friday claimed to have achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of notorious gangster Ramesh Lohar who was wanted in many cases of heinous crimes registered against him in Delhi and Haryana.

The Haryana Police Friday claimed to have achieved a major breakthrough with the arrest of notorious gangster Ramesh Lohar who was wanted in many cases of heinous crimes registered against him in Delhi and Haryana. In a joint operation conducted by Delhi and Haryana police teams last week,three members of Ramesh Lohar gang were nabbed while another one was shot dead in Haryana. The Rohtak police Crime Branch today nabbed Ramesh on the basis of a secret information.

Ramesh Lohar is a resident of Bohar village and was having an old enmity with Naresh aka Kala of the same village. Ramesh is facing trial in at least nine criminal cases registered at various police stations in Haryana and Delhi.

According to the police,last week Ramesh’s hitmen had entered Rohtak with an intention to eliminate Naresh. However,Delhi and Rohtak police forces who were tracking Ramesh Lohar’s gang members’ movement managed to intercept them on the way and nabbed three of them after an exchange of fire. A large amount of arms and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.

Ved Singh,spokesperson of Rohtak police said,“A team of Crime Branch officials had set up a check post near village Bohar this afternoon. The team got information that Ramesh will be entering the village. Acting on the information,the Crime Branch team cordoned of the village. A man saw police closing in and tried to escape. He was caught and brought to Shivaji colony police station,where he was identified as Ramesh Lohar. He will be produced in the court tomorrow”.

Cops: Minor who committed suiced was raped

The death of a 15-year-old girl in Rewari took a startling twist Friday,when the body’s post mortem examination indicated that she was raped before she allegedly committed suicide. Based on the post mortem examination and investigations conducted so far,the Haryana Police arrested a youth on charges of raping her and victim’s mother on charges of instigating her to commit suicide.

The case dates back to May 27 night,when a student of Class 10 residing in a colony on Sohna road committed suicide at her residence by hanging self. Her grandfather lodged a complaint with the police and levelled serious allegations on the victim’s mother and a youth living in the same colony. A case was registered at Dharuhera polic station,Rewari.

Police had also recovered a suicide note from near the victim’s body,which was sent to the Forensic Sciences Laboratory,Madhuban for matching it with her handwriting samples obtained from her notebooks.

According to the police,the victim used to stay away from her father and grandfather in a separate house with her mother. The suicide note purportedly written by her mentioned that she was ending her life on her own. Her body was handed over to her grandfather Jaswant.

“Jaswant,in a written complaint lodged with the police on May 28 had alleged that his daughter-in-law Geeta Devi and a Saini colony resident Pawan Kumar had mentally tortured his granddaughter. Jaswant even alleged that while Pawan had been sexually assaulting her,Geeta had been mentally torturing her which had led to his suicide”,said Harpal Singh,investigating officer of the case.
