Four security personnel were injured in a grenade attack at a police party in the old city of Srinagar on Wednesday evening.
The police said that suspected militants lobbed a grenade at a police party at Khanyar locality in the old city at around 8.45 pm, injuring four security personnel including an Assistant Sub Inspector(ASI) of J&K Police.
The injured were immediately shifted to the nearby hospital, where they are said to be stable.
Inspector General of Police(IGP) Kashmir Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani told The Indian Express that three policemen and a Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) man got injured in the grenade attack. “All of them sustained minor splinter injuries and they are stable now,” he said.
Soon after the attack, additional security forces were rushed to the area and a search operation was launched to nab the militants.
