FIR against Uma Bharati for violation of model code

An FIR has been registered against former Madhya Pradesh CM and BJP’s candidate from Charkhari Uma Bharti for violation of the Model Code of Conduct at Charkhari police station.

An FIR has been registered against former Madhya Pradesh CM and BJP’s candidate from Charkhari Uma Bharti for violation of the Model Code of Conduct at Charkhari police station.

The case has been registered on Sunday under IPC sections 188 and 126 of the Representation of People Act. Returning Officer P K Jain said Bharti had canvassed in Charkhari on February 22,a day before the polling was held there.

As per the EC guidelines,canvassing is supposed to be stopped 48 hours before polling.

Jain said the FIR was registered on the basis of the Kulpahad SDM Nagendra Singh’s report,which was submitted to the police along with a CD showing Bharti campaigning in the area.
