A school exam was cancelled over alleged casteist remarks on Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe in a question paper in Saharanpur here.

The exam of Class IX was cancelled yesterday after protests by a group of teachers and students belonging to the community,Principal of B D Bajoria College Rajiv Ranjan said today.

District President of SC/ST Welfare Association Sanjay Tegwal condemned the manner in which the question paper was set and demanded action against the guilty.

The exam will now be held on Dec 27.
