Discoms set up control rooms,depute officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply in Haryana

To beat power crisis in the state and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers,particularly during the summer and paddy season,Haryana power distribution companies have decided to set up a control room and depute one sub-divisional-officer in each operation circle.

To beat power crisis in the state and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers,particularly during the summer and paddy season,Haryana power distribution companies have decided to set up a control room and depute one sub-divisional-officer in each operation circle.

The sub-divisional-officers will be required to monitor the implementation of power regulatory measures as per schedule and coordinate with the support staff. Simultaneously,one junior engineer will be deputed with his team in each sub-division during night.

In the event of disruption of power supply,corrective measures will be initiated immediately.

Chairman and Managing Director of UHBVN and DHBVN,Devender Singh,said: “The roster of night shift duties for SDOs and junior engineers will be publicised through notice boards and media. The discoms have already set up 1,700 electricity complaint centres in the state. Lineman and assistant lineman of villages have been given the responsibility to attend to consumer complaints promptly. Instructions have also been issued to arrange vehicles,cranes and required material for prompt complaint redressal.”

“The discoms have delegated powers to field officers to augment the system and undertake emergency bifurcation or trifurcation of overloaded feeders and de-loading of distribution transformers wherever required. It will be ensured that loading on distribution transformers is restricted to 70 only per cent. The target is to complete work of deloading of transformers by July 31,” he added.

“All complaints will be entered in the Consumer Grievances Redresses System (CGRS) across the state. The facility of a call centre will be made available to consumers of Panchkula,Ambala,Yamuna Nagar,Kaithal,Karnal,Kurukshetra,Panipat,Sonipat,Rohtak,Jhajjar and Jind districts,” a power department spokesperson said.

Complaints relating to the area of DHBVN were being lodged at the call centre in Gurgaon till now,he added.
