Devendra Kumar Pathak Monday took over charge of the Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF).

He is the 23rd DG of the force. An IPS officer of the 1979 batch, he belongs to the Assam-Meghalaya cadre.

Earlier, he served as IG (Law & Order) and ADG (Law & Order),

Assam; IG CRPF Srinagar; CRPF Addl Director General (HQ) and Special Director General, J&K Zone; and Special Director General, BSF.
